There is currently no international green hotel certifications but the Green Hotel Association independently certifies hotels based on their environmental practices. A green hotel is one that reduces its environmental impact by producing less solid waste and by using less water and less energy. These are the hotels that include a towel and sheet changing option. Instead of having the towels and sheets changed daily, you are given the option of reusing them for the next day or longer. Green hotels also have recycling bins in the room and use reusable soap and shampoo dispensers.
