Toilet Paper Can Save 500,000 Trees a Year

Note: I have revisited the claims made on this page with what I consider to be more realistic numbers. You can find the new post here.

Did you know that most companies that make toilet paper use virgin wood? It seems that virgin wood makes a softer toilet paper than paper made from recycled products and that is why they keep doing it.

Did you know that if every household in the United States would change just one roll of toilet paper made with virgin wood to one role of toilet paper made with recycled products, over 500,000 trees would be saved. Now, do the math. Two rolls would make a 1 million tree impact and so forth and so on.

Let's address the issue of recycled made toilet paper being rougher. Many companies have figured out how to soften the product so go ahead and help make an impact. Little things like this can make a monstrous impact on the environment and it takes all of us to make it work.

We owe it to the future generations.
